London Metal Exchange, London
The London Metal Exchange is the last remaining face-to-face trading exchange in London. Steeped in tradition yet utilising the latest technology to manage and regulate the trading of metals, they are hugely important to the City of London and the UK.
Over time, growth and development had placed pressure on their long-established Headquarters and trading floor in Leadenhall Street, resulting in the need to take on additional space at the other end of the road. Clearly, the time had come to consolidate the business in one location, and they were fortunate to find 10 Finsbury Square; a brand new development that could accommodate both the trading floor and the whole organisation that facilitates its success.
What We Did
So we were delighted to be invited as part of a Design & Build team to present our ideas on how to create an appropriate headquarters environment that would reflect both their heritage and contemporary technical excellence.
Perhaps surprisingly our starting point was their existing furniture. On our introductory tour of inspection, we noticed that they had many items of furniture that were of high quality and in excellent condition. Although they wanted their new desks to be different sizes to existing, we felt that it would be also possible to re-use some of these components.
Eventually, following our appointment and having undertaken a comprehensive survey of all existing furniture, we were able to provide significant savings while delivering a very high-quality environment with an ‘all-new’ appearance.

What our client said:
“David and his team provided an exemplary service to the LME from the early product selection and value-engineering stages through to the delivery, installation and snagging of our new furniture. To deliver this major project in challenging circumstances is a testament to the values and integrity of Interion as a business. We are delighted with the end result, and Interion remains a trusted long-term partner to the London Metal Exchange”
