This global technology services leader continues to expand in the UK and Europe. They required a new facility for HQ and marketing functions that was to be an example of the latest thinking in workspace, and convey the quality of their people and services.

What We Did

Their highly skilled staff were to be properly supported with the latest electronic sit-stand desks to provide ergonomic support and the ability to vary posture and work settings, with support spaces to accommodate group meetings, training and relaxation, while encouraging interaction at all levels

Interion's contribution was to interpret the preliminary layout plans and to suggest appropriate options to satisfy all requirements within a limited budget. We began by arranging showroom tours for key stakeholders, and then produced a series of progressively refined costed specifications to focus in on an appropriate level of quality and cost. Once all this was agreed, we took care of all ordering, co-ordination and control including the delivery, installation and snagging of all loose items.

But first, we had to demonstrate value by participating in a formal tender process. We decided to provide a very comprehensive response including the cost and technical/design features of products from three separate manufacturers, in both sit-stand and fixed height variants. In this way we were able to contribute to the cost/value discussions, while also demonstrating that one of our solutions was the most competitive of all the tender responses.

Who We Worked With

The lead designer was Marissa Wallder-Shaw of Maze Design, working in harmony with Simon Jeffries of Francis Hunter Project Managers. The end result is a stunning workplace that nails the brief and provides a level of quality far higher than the budget would suggest – a testament to the results that can be achieved when design and project management teams work harmoniously.

We should not forget the contribution of professional fit-out contractor Oktra. As well as delivering on time, on budget, theirs was one of the cleanest and best-manged construction sites we have seen. We appreciated their help and co-operation during the critical last two weeks when furniture was installed.

And we can't fail to mention our client, who as well as being knowledgeable, decisive, professional and motivational, is one of the nicest people we have worked with!
